Carol “Shine” Atha

Secretary/Treasurer, Steamboat Springs, CO

I moved to Steamboat Springs and Routt County in 1972 to visit a few friends and fellow theatre majors from college.  We performed some works locally in Steamboat before the group split, but the love of live theater remains with me.

Upon arriving here, I went out to Perry-Mansfield Performing Arts School and Camp to volunteer. My “job” there was to be Assistant Director (aka gofer) to Charlotte Perry, one of the camp founders. I was on the Board of Directors for Steamboat Arts Council (now Steamboat Creates) for 7 years. Following that I was on the Board of Perry-Mansfield for 7 years and as President of that board for 2 years. I also served on the Board of Community Agricultural Alliance for 7 years and as their board President for 2 years. My next board position was on the Yampa Valley Community Foundation, again for 7 years, and served on the Executive Committee for 4 years as Chair of the Investment Committee. it has been a pleasure to be on the Board of CNPF since its inception as a stand alone 501(c)3 serving as the Treasurer.

I try to see as many productions each year as I can and particularly appreciate new works, whether as works in progress or as finished pieces.
