Jeremy Shamos

ATTORNEY

DENVER, CO/NEW YORK, NY

Born in NY in 1935.  BA from Yale, 1956, LLB Columbia Law School 1960.  Associated with Mark Goodson, of Goodson Todman Productions for over 30 years.  Never had a title, but functioned as Mark’s consiglieri until his death in December 1992, at which point I became acting CEO of his various companies until their sale in 1995.

While working for Mark, sometimes full time, sometimes part time, I also worked as a lawyer, two years on Wall Street with Hughes Hubbard Blair & Reed, two years in Paris, France with Coudert Freres, three years with The Center for Law & Research (a public interest law firm which I founded in Denver, CO) and three years as Counsel to the Governor of Colorado, Richard Lamm.

I have also served on various not for profit Boards, notably 16 years St. John’s College (Annapolis and Santa Fe); four years co-chair (with my wife Susan) of Opera Colorado; five years as Chair of Curious Theater Company (Denver); more years than I can count on The Acting Company Board (NY) and currently for TCG as a member of the National Council for the American Theatre (Theatre Communications Group, the umbrella organization for the American non-profit theatre).  Have left all other Boards, the better to enjoy my four children (including my NY actor son, Jeremy) and my eight grandchildren, but couldn’t say no to Jim.
